Getting to Hotel

Travel time from Phuket International Airport (HKT) to Anchan Boutique Hotel is one hour to one and a quarter hours. The airport is at the northern end, while Chalong lies at the southern end. Get a private taxi or "Grab" car straight to Soi Ta-iad-for fighters upcountry struggling with gear bags, this option will be worth every baht more it costs compared to catching some shared minivan from the airport! Yes, there are much cheaper shared minivans available right at the airport but they make stops-in travel agencies along beaches dropping off passengers; hence what should have been an hour's trip turns into two hours.

After check-in at the hotel, transport will change modes and become two-wheeled. In this part of Phuket, scooters rule. There is no handy or efficient public bus service linking gyms to beaches or anywhere else for that matter. You can walk from the hotel to any gym or restaurant on Soi Ta-iad but if you want to go to the beach, night markets in Phuket Town or Central Festival mall then most probably you have to rent a scooter. There are taxi stands on the street but taking a taxi for every short trip within adds up quickly.

In case you’re not comfortable riding a scooter, the “Phuket Smart Bus” also goes along the coast, but first you would need to get from your hotel to either of the main roads (Chao Fa West or East) to catch a connecting ride. Alternatively, both “Grab” and “Bolt” apps work extremely well within this area. Generally speaking. Bolt is cheaper for motorcycle taxi rides that can quickly take you over the hill to Kata Beach at a fair price without having to negotiate yourself.
